The cartridges can be used for the following purposes:

The cartridge can be ignited with a match or with an electric igniter (remote control). It burns from the ignition surface and becomes shorter.
The cartridge can be set down or attached to the base of the cartridge. Suitable holders are also available as protective hoods, e.g. for model aircraft.
