Läubli Feuerwerk AG in Aesch: family business with a spirit of innovation

In 1960, Oskar Läubli-Leutwiler steered the Läubli family's destiny into the fireworks business. His good fortune at the time was that he had a wife at his side, Rosa Läubli-Leutwiler, who actively supported his unusual venture.

Even then, it was logical that the construction of a fireworks factory had to be realized outside of a village. Aesch was chosen and construction could begin one kilometer from the village center. For safety reasons, the workplaces were divided into several small houses, which are arranged like chain links from a bird's eye view. As an accompanying measure, it was decided to plant a forest, which now, almost 60 years later, makes the whole affair safer and, not least, more mysterious.

The range was huge. Volcanoes, rockets, suns and many other pyrotechnic articles were produced, as imports, especially from China, only began in the 1970s.

After 15 years, Oskar Läubli-Leutwiler handed over the company to Anna Lisa and Oskar Läubli-Renggli following the death of his wife Rosa in 1972. However, they got off to a bad start. The recession was merciless and a dry spell did the rest. Fortunately, however, things could only get better and with great effort and sacrifice, the following years became more pleasant.
As it became increasingly difficult to maintain the extensive product range over the years and in accordance with the law, the couple decided to specialize in the production of volcanoes.

Today, our focus is on the production and sale of volcanoes. We export to various European countries and have built up a very interesting customer base. At the end of the 1970s, Oskar Läubli-Renggli was the first to succeed in producing a minute volcano. This still enjoys above-average popularity today, so much so that it is copied both abroad and at home.

For several years now, Anna Lisa Läubli-Renggli has successfully managed the company as owner. Her son Oskar is the technical manager and developer. He has acquired an impressive amount of knowledge and we are proud to say that he has succeeded in developing a volcano with a burning time of 2 minutes. According to experts, this is the longest burning time in the world.

As transport regulations have become increasingly strict in recent years, daughter Tamara took on the role of Dangerous Goods Officer in 2013. This is an office that is required by law. Her task is to guarantee a smooth and safe transportation process.
